Right to Rent is now a legal requirement.

10/02/2016
As from 1st February 2016 it is a legal requirement that all landlords or their agents acting on their behalf carry out quick and simple checks to ensure potential tenants have the right to rent property in the UK. This includes traditional landlords and homeowners who take in lodgers. Failure to check a tenants immigration status could lead to a fine of up to £3000.

This is free of charge for all properties let with Liverpool Residential and includes:
  • ID Validation
  • Follow-up checks for time-limited certification
  • Home office checks
  • Residency confirmation
  • Financial Sanctions checks
  • Electoral Role confirmation
  • Politically Exposed Persons check
  • Protection against any penalty check
